Santa Clara Review is published in February and May by Santa Clara University undergraduate students in Santa Clara, California. We accept:
- poetry
- fiction (including drama/screenplays)
- non-fiction (including essays)
- visual art (including photography, sculpture, etc.)
- music
Process/Timeline
We accept submissions year round.
Because we operate on an academic schedule (Sept. - May) and as we publish only twice per year (Feb. & May), please expect to wait up to six months to hear back from us.
Note: If you submit between the months of April and August your submission will not be read until September when our staff returns to school. If you submit during this period you will not hear back until December or January. See our production schedule for more info.
- Please know that we thoroughly review and consider all submissions for publication.
- If your piece is selected, we will notify you by email or postal mail approximately two months prior to publication.
Simultaneous Submissions
Those submitting may submit their work to other publications at the same time that they submit to Santa Clara Review. But please do notify us of your withdrawal as soon as possible if your work is selected by another publication.
